9. Sylvia Bamberry
Painter
Sylvia has always had the urge to draw and paint, even as a small child when she used whatever implements she could find to draw and paint on the walls of her family home, much to the displeasure of her parents. With her mothers support, Sylvia went on to become an artist for a printing company and a student of the National Art School in Sydney.
For the past 15 years Sylvia has experimented with various media, attending workshops and exhibiting in local exhibitions. In this time she has won various awards and sold her work. Sylvia has been an active member of the Wagga Art Society and was president for two years. Sylvia has enjoyed studying with various artists such as Colina Grant, Ross Patterson, Colley Whisson, Catherine Hamilton, John Lovett (painting in Italy), and Amanda Hyat (painting in Italy and Greece). Sylvia loves to travel. Her various trips to Europe, UK, NZ, Asia and around Australia have given her a wealth of resources to work from. She loves to use bold happy colours and to experiment and work with a wide range of media. A diverse range of her work can be seen at her home studio.
